You have searched and researched and assessed your options, and you have determined that a ductless mini split AC system makes the most sense for your home. These efficient systems have an excellent reputation and are definitely a good choice for a lot of homeowners. However, they are quite different where the installation is concerned, so a lot of homeowners who make the decision to go with a mini-split AC have no idea what to expect. Here is a look at some of the things you should expect.

The unit will have an interior and exterior parts.

Just like a regular central air system, your ductless mini split will have an interior air-control components and an exterior condenser. The outdoor condenser is connected to the interior air-control unit by a refrigerant line. These two components can vary greatly depending on the model where size or appearance are concerned, but for the most part, the functions of the two units will be the same with all systems.

You may be required to get more than one system.

Depending on how you look at it, ductless mini splits have a slight downfall in that they are not usually good for large homes. Of course, for people who live in smaller houses or an apartment who do not have room for ducts, the system is advantageous. If you have a larger home, you may have to have separate units installed in different locations. This may seem bad, but it also gives you the benefit of having a single system to cool different parts of the house, so you will never have to cool the entire house if you don't want to.

The interior unit will be placed in a section of the wall.

Most ductless mini splits have an interior unit that is wall mounted. However, some systems will mount in a window if you want a more temporary setup. For the mini split to function properly when mounted as a wall unit, there will have to be a hole installed to connect the unit to the refrigerant line leading to the exterior condenser.

In the end, your new ductless mini split AC system will bring you cool, comfortable air for your home in an efficient manner. If you would like to know more about what to expect with installation, contact an air conditioning installation company like Nova Air Conditioning & Heating  near you.
